Module 1: (16 hours)
Review of the literature, Current research related to Pilates, Pilates Principles, Foundation Pilates Movements and exercises, Pilates Movement Assessments, Pilates for rehabilitation (basic Pilates exercises on the mat and apparatus). Case study discussion, format and assignment for next module. Approved for 16 CEU’s from Physical therapy Association of Georgia.
Module 2: (16 hours)
Pilates Progressions and Regressions
Foundation Movements Review and Progressions/Regressions, Beginner exercises with progressions and regressions/modifications on Mat and Apparatus, Case studies presentations and discussion.
Module 3: (16 hours)
Pilates Transitioning from Rehab and Special Populations
Focus on transitioning a patient into a post-rehab or fitness setting for Pilates. Address special populations such as Youth, Elderly, Pregnant and Postpartum, Athletes and Performers. Demonstrate transition of Beginner exercises into Intermediate/Advanced Exercises on Mat, Reformer, and Apparatus. Case studies presentations and discussion.
Module 4: (optional; 16 hours)
PMA Certification Readiness
Pilates for the Healthy Body. Intermediate and Advanced exercises on the mat and apparatus.
